Water surrounding New Orleans is an asset, not an enemy, and can make the city more safe, resilient, and beautiful.
David Waggonner presenting "Living with Water" at TEDxNOLA on August 27th, 2010.
The TEDxNOLA conference in New Orleans on August 27th, 2010 brought together thought leaders from the region to discuss opportunities for creative problem solving in the midst of crisis. Speakers included Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Billy Nungesser, Harry Shearer, James Carville, and Branford Marsalis, among many others. David discussed the opportunities provided by the holistic embrace of water in a delta landscape, opportunities both practical and symbolic, and included proposals for a comprehensive urban water system developed during the Dutch Dialogues symposia.
