Madame John’s Legacy Restoration
Louisiana State MuseumNew Orleans, Louisiana
A complete restoration of one of the most significant buildings in the State, this French colonial plantation structure, constructed in 1789, was the only one in Louisiana included by Life magazine in their Bicentennial Listing of the 100 Best Buildings in the United States. The French Colonial plantation house was restored in 1971 for the Louisiana State Museum at a cost of $350,000. The firm won an Honor Award from the Vieux Carré Commission for the project.
