Collaboration with Waggonner & Ball Architects

Waggonner & Ball collaborated with Master's thesis students at Wageningen University in Wageningen, Netherlands to further develop concepts from the Dutch Dialogues that would eventually influence the Greater New Orleans Urban Water Plan.

Three landscape architecture students researched the Gentilly and Lakeview neighborhoods along with City Park, all of which were badly damaged by flooding after Hurricane Katrina, and proposed innovative design strategies focusing on the concept of "A Working Landscape for New Orleans." Their work includes detailed studies of vegetation and animals in different ecosystems, how landscape architecture can create identity of a place, and examines contemporary water management around the world.
